Snow days and surveys!
Some quick updates for BSD families, students & staff
Winter Weather Communication
Whew! We made it through this crazy week!
Each morning this week, our team has been up early (and late!) assessing road conditions and weather forecasts across Kitsap County. We know that delays and closures can create hardships for our families, and we don't make the decision lightly.

We understand that parents appreciate knowing about delays and closures the night before. But conditions can change quickly, and our goal is to balance student safety with minimizing disruptions to learning as much as possible. So we aren’t always in a position to make the call the night before. But - we hear you - and want to assure you we will make decisions the night before whenever possible, and are committed to notifying families as soon as possible!

We appreciate your continued support as we navigate this tricky winter weather we've been having and make the best decision possible with the information available that puts student, staff and family safety first.
Snow make-up days
The Bremerton School board will be voting on the updated academic calendar next week, but we anticipate that they will approve the following snow make-up days that were built-in to this year’s academic calendar. Schools will be open for regular instruction on:

  • Friday, February 14
  • Friday, May 23

We are hopeful that weather conditions will allow us to return to a more normal week of learning next week!

We want to hear from you!

We also want to take the opportunity to remind you that our superintendent search survey is open through the weekend. Results from the survey will be used to help identify the desired characteristics for the new superintendent. The Board deeply values the feedback.

Thanks to those of you who have completed the survey. If you haven’t, we hope you’ll take a moment this weekend to do so.

Thanks for your support and participation!
