Field Day!!!

Hello Families of View Ridge!
Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to help our Otters have fun at field day!!

Students will have the opportunity to get wet during field day - both with a giant slip 'n slide as well as other water events. Please send them to school on Monday, June 15th with a swimsuit, towel, and with a change of dry clothes (labeled with your name please). We will not have spare clothes if your student gets wet and we will have to call home for a change of clothes. These events will be optional if your student doesn't want to get wet.

It will be very warm so please make sure your student brings a water bottle and remind them to stay hydrated. They will also need to wear appropriate shoes for play.

Sunscreen for field day

Washington schools allow student to possess and apply FDA-approved over-the-counter sunscreen without a doctor's note. Parents or guardians must supply and apply the product. School staff are not able to assist with application, but students are permitted to carry up to 8oz of sunscreen at a time preferably in a plastic bag and may self apply if capable.

From the Nurses Desk

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are making plans to close out this school year. The last day of school is June 18th. Please make arrangements to PICK-UP your student’s medications at their school, beginning June 15th. With your help, we will have enough medication on hand for your student until the last day of school.

Medication(s) must be picked up before June 26th, 2026 by a responsible adult. Students are not allowed to pick up medications. Any medications not picked up before June 26th, 2026 will be destroyed. Medications are expensive, so please come by the school to retrieve your unused meds.

If your student will need to take medication during school hours next school year (2026 -2027), you will need to have your MEDICAL PROVIDER complete and sign a “Provider’s Order for Medication at School” form (available at all the schools or on the Bremerton School District website. You may pick up this form and any others your student will require when you pick up your student’s unused medication. If your student takes more than one medication, please use a separate form for each medication.

This also includes medications used for emergencies such as Bee-Sting Epi-Pens and any over-the-counter medications like aspirin or Tylenol.

Remember, any medication provided to the school for your student requires:

  • A completed “Provider’s Order for Medication at School” form (make copies if you need more) for EACH medication your student needs to take @ school
  • Each medication MUST be in its original labeled, container (i.e., prescription bottle and/or originally labeled box)
  • If your student is allowed to carry their own MDI/Inhaler, your Physician must indicate this on the medication at school form, above his signature.
  • Metered Dose Inhalers & Epi-Pens are the only medications students are allowed to carry on their person in the Bremerton School District once there is a current completed physician’s order on file.

When school starts in the fall, an adult can bring the student’s medication to school in a properly labeled container with the completed forms. The school secretary will be able to log in the medication. Please do not send any medication with students.

Thank you for helping us to provide a healthy, safe learning environment for all students.
